Les should stop allying with Todd Standing

Look, everyone deserves second chances, I'll just say that up front so this isn't taken as an attack on Todd. I don't know his full history but Les freely admits his reputation is "dubious". That seems like really shaky ground to begin an investigation on. Assuming Les did find strong evidence it would be slammed for having any connection with Todd, who apparently has been accused of hoaxes in the past. This first true evidence is the most crucial so it's important to not have any extra stigma attached to it.

What Les needs to do, and I don't know why he doesn't, is go into an area completely unannounced and spend his nights. The fact he went camping with Todd and then did a night solo opens up too many "what ifs". Sure, Todd could have gone back home that second night, and even if you can prove it, what's to say he didn't tell people ahead of time to go out there and take the apples or make sounds on his behalf? Again, I'm not saying Todd did any of that, but when you're working with a guy with a reputation of potential hoaxing there will always be that fog of suspicion surrounding you. Les knew of that camp site from last year, and he certainly didn't need Todd's permission to go back, so why inform anyone? Just go up there on a random night and see what happens. That would cut the potential for hoaxing down to nearly zero since I'm sure not many other people would be roaming around up on that peak, and especially not with the intent or equipment needed to hoax.

Exactly - why go into a place that you know Todd could be messing with? And informing him that you're going there? Hilarious. And it's just one guy, a shady guy, saying that this place has bigfoot. His footage is complete fakery, I don't know why he chose him in the first place. He should be trying the hottest spots based on amount of sightings, not on some dude with clearly faked footage. "His footage could either be real or fake, there is no other option." Yeah, and it's fake Les. Come on.

Also, multiple cameras. He needs to be setting up tons of cameras so the crap like in episode 3 doesn't happen. One apple "disappears" and we see something on the bottom of the screen. If you had 3 other cameras, you know would know what the culprit was. I think it's just for the show - they're consistently churning up something out of nothing, "I saw something but as soon as I turned my camera on it was gone!" Please.

Also, the audio - why can't we hear what they hear? "I heard something! A knock!" Great! Why the hell can't we hear that? Why don't they have directional mics pointed toward the forest? It's just the same old crap. Nothing out there...

I don't get why multiple cameras aren't used every time. Video cameras should be rolling continuously along with thermal camera, time-lapsed still cameras, and motion activated cameras. Not sure why the latter is apparently solely used in these situations. Maybe to conserve battery use or because reviewing it would take so long, both of which are ridiculous reasons. You can get batteries that can power a video camera all night. Set up multiple batteries rigged with a solar panel to recharge during the day some distance away from the bait, and leave every set up for a couple nights. If you have a MA camera taking snapshots with a time stamp you know where to fast forward the video to. If something triggers the MA camera and you get no still picture of whatever-it-was from it because moved so fast you'll have video and likely stills from a camera that periodically takes pictures. Also, set up motion sensors pointing in directions other than at the bait so pictures are taken as something big approaches.

Cameras should also be positioned above the bait so you catch animals hanging out around it even if they don't get close or retrieve it. Multiple sites should be set up. One with a fresh dead animal, another with fruit, and another with a pot of honey or molasses. Leave a picnic basket and see if it's take away. Leave a GPS device that transmits it's location and secure it in a basket or bag of food.

Seriously, the reason there aren't cameras positioned everywhere, is that they want evidence that leaves a doubt. The doubt is to lure in viewers. If they did it your way, they would find nothing, because there is nothing to find. That would lose a lot of viewers.

This program is nonsense.

Absolutely! How Les got involved in this I will never know. He must know it will taint anything else he every does.

Perhaps they through major money at him. I do hope so, in Survivorman he went through a lot for (according to the rumour factory) not much money at all.

They did and I don't blame him for taking it. Might as well make the money while he can. Seems like Discovery had soured on his original show and is trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator with gimmicks like they do on Naked and Afraid. Don't get me wrong, N&A could be a good show if they dropped the naked gimmick. I'm not a prude, I just don't see the point in hindering people when it's tough enough to survive out there without being deprived of shoes and having your genitals eaten by insects. All of these survival shows could be good if they dropped the reality show nonsense.

I'm disappointed but I would/will watch his show if he goes back to the original format and it wont taint anything for me. There's nothing else out there in the survival TV format that comes close in quality. The only one I can stomach is Dual Survival which has tons of wasted potential. Thankfully, Matt Graham doesn't take the bait when the producers try to get him to argue with his partner to spice up the show.

Coming soon: Matt Graham goes in search of the chupacabras!
See how silly that would be, well, that's precisely what Les did for some bucks. Too bad, you never get your reputation back once it's been soiled, specially when the soiling is by stepping on Bigfoot bull$h¡t.

This Todd person is obviously a career bigfoot hoaxer. I wouldn't be surprised if Todd hung around at night and stole the apples.
