Just Started Realizing How Pointless This Show Was As A Survival Lesson!

Instead of using the actual situations of danger that occasionally cropped up as an opportunity to teach people how to survive for real, he would abort the filming of the show and be evacuated by his safety crew!
Wouldn't it have been more helpful to people if he had shown them what to do in a real emergency situation instead of the stupid made up survival scenarios he came up with?
I don't know….it just struck me as dumb that he's filming a "survival" show, but whenever he found himself in a real situation of danger, he had no faith in the very survival techniques he was teaching others to use.
Sort of like the lifeguard at your local pool wearing a life preserver!

ya your the guy who posted on here he was a pussy for not jumping on a pack of wild adult boars with a knife killing them for dinner LOL

survival techniques revolve around minimizing risk as he says on the show..
and unfolding your pocket knife and jumping on a boar with horns because your a macho tough guy is not smart..
and survival is about being smart.. not macho.

so any other crap you have to say about him is meaningless garbage when you have proven to have foolish judgement and broken perception..
you simply don't like the guy and have been hanging around here reaching pretty hard to bash him for some strange reason.

much of what the guy says on TV is just common sense so uhhh smarten up buddy
and pray you don't end up in a survival situation you would prob bleed to death impaled by a boar's tusk LOL

So true. You don't dare risk injury when you are already in a precarious situation- and jumping on wild boards is precarious! It's not the time to pretend to be Rambo and play macho man. It's about staying alive long enough until you are rescued or find civilization...

The only problem with that guys post is that I never said that....EVER!
When the *beep* did Les Stroud ever run into a pack of wild boars for him to jump on?
It's kind of hard for me to call him a pussy for not jumping on wild boars when I never saw a wild boar on any Survivorman episode!

Dude...I don't know what the hell you were smoking when you wrote this post, but you have me confused with someone else because I never said anything about him being a pussy or killing wild boars. You obviously pulled that out of your ass because I never said that ever.
I would never advocate the senseless killing of an animal for a staged survival show.
Get your posters straight before you go accusing me of saying something I never *beep* said!

The guy who called Stroud a pussy for not jumping on a wild boar was the dude who wrote the thread "10 Reasons Why Les Stroud Sucks"

you or not my point stands.
you both said a variation of the same dumb comment.

when he bailed up North because of melting snow
he said he was doing it for his crew.. you can see he didn't want to leave too.

he used common sense.

he has a crew.. it was about them.. not the show.
he did the right thing.

so there you have it.. my opinion (the correct one)
