Les Stroud and celebrity guests

I'd like to see him take Andy Weir, author of the Martian, out with him for 2 or 3 days of survival. Since Weir has written one of the ultimate survival novels, it would just make it that much more fun. I'd also like to see Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage of Mythbusters join him. (I kinda hoped he'd guest star on their Duct Tape survival specials). Jamie is practical and has had some survival training so it'd be interesting to see how he fairs and Adam is so elaborate and goofy, I wonder how Les would deal with him.

I am watching the Bear Grylls show right now actually like that.
I say ya fine do it but make it as real as possible..
Bear's show is so fake :(

Goofy ?
I bet Les would be getting snappy with him fast !
You can see him getting uptight with his friend and son who did shows with him..
And he has a point too !
Survival is serious and nasty.
Just imagine sitting in the Arctic for 18 hours with a few boards over your head
with nothing to do at all..
The sheer boredom would be crippling.. and depressing.

Ever spent vast amounts of time out in the woods by yourself with out a phone or laptop etc ?
It's all fine & dandy until it get's dark out then the game changes !
I've been camping many times growing up and it was in no way at all comparable
to my own survival trip i have been on by myself.

Les is right about the experience of it.. there is no substitute.
Some "training" means nothing.. even from Les Stroud.
He tries to impart his experience for the viewer on Camera.
But at the end of the day it's up to you.
