who would you have cast?

Okay, so we basically know this film wasn't nearly as good as it could have been, for various reasons that have been talked about to death, and that's quite sad because the book is really great. But I want to focus on the cast here.

It still makes me a bit sad that I never got to see any version of the quite awesomely wonderful Arthur Lecomte onscreen. I used to think that his part would've been basically impossible to cast, but then (here's a non sequiter for you) I saw Scott Pilgrim, saw Kieran Culkin as Wallace (whose character is not totally dissimilar to Arthur's), and thought, "Hey! That kind of character CAN be cast convincingly!". But I still can't think of anyone off the top of my head who'd be good.

SO. Give me who you'd like to have seen in the various roles. Including the director/screenwriter/composer/wardrbe assistant if you feel so inclined. I have in fact my various problems with the entire cast of MoP (I find Sienna Miller too annoying to believe in her as the ideal dream woman, Jon Foster needed to be way funnier, I thought Peter Sarsgaard's performance was a bit selfconscious, etc etc) so I apologise if you 100% adored the acting.

Here goes, get ready to mock. Having just seen Adventureland (which is in many ways a slightly remixed version of the basic Mysteries of Pittsburgh story, it even takes place in Pittsburgh, conveniently for this comparison!) I am now convinced that Jesse Eisenberg would've made a really great Art Bechstein.
