I haven't seen any of the other Mimzy films; I can't find them anywhere, will I understand this, the last in the series of the 'Mimzy movies'?

There aren't any other "Mimzy" movies, just this one. The movie's name is even considered to be a poor choice by the movie's makers, who came up with another name for it (The gifted), but not until it was too late to change it's name.

There is only one Mimzy film. There might be others in the book series.

There is no book series. It's a short story called "Mimsy Were the Borogoves".

When the movie came out, it was included in a book collecting science fiction stories called The Last Mimzy.
