Since when does 10 episodes constitute a 'season'?

I'm seeing a very irritating trend recently. Shows like Lovespring and Reno 911 have "seasons" that are 10 to 15 episodes long. Then they disappear, often for months.

Folks, a "season" is 22 to 30 episodes. Anything less and it's not a series, it's a miniseries.

Look at it this way. The NFL plays on 16 regular season games whereas Major Leauge baseball plays 162. Are you going to tell the NFL that they only play a mini-season.

Think yourselves lucky, in the UK we are lucky to get more than 6 episodes a year of our shows.
