Ending seems to be too abrupt (spoiler alert)
Did anyone see this movie on astro last night (June 20, 2008)? the ending seems too abrupt. what happens to Boy after he returns the watch and goes looking for his father by the river...?
shareHe watched from afar, period. It just wasn't very good. The Hong Kong film industry is very good at praising mediocrity. This film is overrated, don't be fooled.
shareI disagree. I found the film very moving. The flashbacks at the end showed mostly bad memories of the boys father. It felt to me like a clear message to try and be better people in our own lives. I guess the boy won't meet up with his father again, but we are left to draw our own conclusions.
If you have not already, I suggest watching the longer version, it's a much more complete movie.
