Its hard to pick a favorite when all 13 are so good but here are a few that stood out for me.
1.Ghosts - Scarier than some horror films, fantastic atmosphere, amazing music.
2.Big Freeze - Even though the makers assumed there would be a second series it still felt like they wrapped it up pretty well. The ocean liner sailing out of shot with the song 'Vienna' being played over it was superb.
3.Pirate - Another episode with a atmosphere that rivals horror films, the shots of the old tug being held captive in the warehouse are still pretty creepy.
4.Up River - A brilliant thrilling episode with fantastic production value, the audience gets to see some new locations in the form of 'Up River' and are also treated to another appearance by Billy Shoepack.
5.High Tide - Probably my favorite episode due to it being the first I saw as a kid, another thrilling episode due to the atmosphere that is achieved by the train and its inevitable fall.
6.Munitions - The colors in this episode are fantastic! I remember a shot of Top Hat with his face alight with the colors of the fire, the sombre mood during the fire and the teamwork of the Z stacks really stayed with me.
Overall TUGS is one of the few children's television series that can be revisited for a reason other than Nostalgia, its production values and music are unique in a genre that is often accused of dumbing itself down for its audience.
