Is Finn(VWF091) of the Sequoia2 one of Flowers or Mozarts babies? And is Sequoia2 a splinter group?

Finn is Flower and Zaphod's daughter...she was called Rose in MM and her littermates were Kim (Columbus) and Flo (Parsley)...

Yes, Sequoia 2 is a splinter group, they disappeared briefly and then were seen as a group with wild members so they are not followed like the others. Its unknown if the researchers are going to habituate the wild members or not.

I imagine it is really difficult now to keep track of all the meerkats. Most of the groups seem to be very healthy as far as numbers go. Only a few groups have less than 15 members!

I noticed that there seem to be fewer roving males this time. Is this because it is winter in the Kalahari?

I think this may be the reason, lone meerkats (both evicted females and roving males) have a harder time surviving in the wild because food is harder to find and when they concentrate more of digging and foraging, they can't concentrate on sentry duty while in the summer over there food is easier to find so they can separate their attention easier between finding food and watching for dangers.

I noticed that in the Aztecs Zaphod and Monkulus are the dominants, but I also noticed Monkulus is a Whiskers female(VWF063). Is Monkuluis one of Zaphod's daughter's?

Monkulus and her littermates Armanita Ditch, Pozzo, Lucky and Zarathustra...as well as the litter born before her (Kinkaju, Rocket Dog, Raga Muffin and Super Furry Animal) were born after Zaphod was attacked and evicted by Alexander (his brother) and Dangerous Dave (Natal whiskers male)...Yossarian was Dominant Male at that time and fathered those two of Flower's litters...so Zaphod is Monkulus' uncle...Its not known if they are mating or if she is just good at finding roving males to mate with...but it is possible that they are mating...There was a case of Aunt/Nephew matings in Elveera...Eleusine was dominant female and her mate (until her death) was her nephew Dante.

I noticed that the Dominant female in Sequoia 2 is another Whiskers named Finn(VWF091). I am guessing she is one of Flowers(which is amazing how many Dominants she gave birth too!)DO you happend to know who Finn's littermate's were?

Also, any idea what happened to Whiskers-Sophie and Zappa-Melanie???

Finn is indeed a daughter of Flower, fathered by Zaphod...She was born at the end of Season 1...her littermates are Flo (Dominant of Van Helsing group) and Kim (who was hit by a car when she was a juvenile)...Kim was called Columbus on the show (the young pup who went foraging early) while Flo and Finn played Parsley and Rose.

Sophie Whiskers was played by a couple of different 'kats...In Seasons 1, 2 and most of 3 she was played by Mozart's daughter, Tina Sparkle...At the end of season 3 she actually got separated from the Whiskers with youngsters Suggs and Izzy...Izzy disappeared soon after while Tina Sparkle and Suggs met up with wild males Carravagio, Sid Vicious and Houdini and wild female Mau Mau to form the Hoax Mob...Suggs disappeared while roving and soon Carravagio, Sid Vicious and Houdini did as well leaving the females alone and pregnant, then Mau Mau disappeared...Tina Sparkle wasn't followed after that and its unknown what happened to her...Carragio later founded the Polaris group with more wild members and was reported as died in April 2008...Sid Vicious is a member of Sequoia 2...while Houdini joined the Moomins for a short time and then was last seen...Mau Mau hasn't been seen since her departure from Tina Sparkle...In Season 4, Sophie was mostly played by Ella Whiskers (used to be called Mango)...Ella became Dominant Female of the Whiskers after Rocket Dog's death and her Dominant Male is Thundercat, who is her cousin. Ella's dad is Zaphod and Thundercat's dad is Basil (called Big Si) and Zaphod and Basil are brothers.

Melanie Zappa was played by a Young Ones female named Tequila...Tequila Young Ones formed the PQ group with her sister, her young nephew and some Lazuli males including JD...The males left the group and formed the Starsky with Mozart, Kinkaju, Armanita Ditch and De La Soul...Tequila went and joined the dying Balrog group and sadly died of TB.

I was just visiting the Friends of KMP store( www.zazzle.com/fkmp_store ) and they have a lot of items of Fluffernuttter. I don't recall this meerkat so who is Fluffernutter?

Fluffernutter was never on the show but he was born in the Moomins group (probably offspring of Grumpy and Burgan)...His littermates were named Rocky (male), Penn (male) and Mich (female)...Fluffernutter is a special 'kat indeed...He was born with canine teeth and with claws...His teeth eventually grew in but not his claws...however he became an accomplished food beggar and thief...He was born December 15, 2005...In November 2007, he emigrated from the Moomins and left the research area with older siblings Dzidzia (female), Georgia (female), and Rothko (male); littermate Rocky (male), and younger siblings Maverick (male), Ice Man (male) and Viper (male)...

I had a feeling that Fluffernutter was not on the show, but AP sure has a lot of items for Fluffernutter. I really wish they sold more Flower and Mozart items. You would think they would have plenty of pictures of the two in their archives!

What are Apreds? I checked March2009 life history and didn't see this term. Does this mean predation? If this is the case it looks, sadly, like quite a few meerkats were eaten this past month!

Apred is Assumed Predated...It's for pups that disappear from the group while either at the burrow or while foraging...since they are so young when they disappeared there would be little chance of survival...They usually wait a couple of days before putting a meerkat in this category :(...Yes there seems to be a lot in this category lately...

I noticed some of the IDs (like Axel) have a "y" in them. What group name started with a "y"? I thought Axel was born a Commando.

Y is the initial for the Young Ones...It was the group that Axel was born in, he is actually Zaphod's nephew (Zaphod's brother Alexander was Axel's father) and Flower's cousin (Asterix is Flower's aunt)...The only other two from Young Ones that are still around at Teabag and Biltong in Elveera...Here is a list of initials that may be found in current meerkat codes...
