Does this mean the Commandos have left the research area and probably aren't coming back?

The Commandos were one of the groups that had many members with signs and symptoms of Bovine Tuberculosis (That is what Cho, Kili and Rastas died from) so sadly the chances of them returning are slim, most of the members that were left were under 1 year old or just a little over. :( The Commandos will be missed.

Evi mentioned that the disease is also being seen in Elveera as well. There has been a big Tuberculosis epidemic on our meerkat groups. What makes it even scarier is that the Commandos and Elveeras weren't near each other. The Commandos had separated themselves from the other groups a while ago and on the territory map were in the North-East corner while the Elveera are located next to JaXX, Lazuli and Toyota further South-western.

It's even suspected that Grumpy died form Tuberculosis as well but luckily none of the other Moomins have been showing symptoms, on the territory map, they are in the North-Western corner.

The TB is so very scary. Were the Whiskers hit recently. They were once 50 and now they are only 17.

Also, is Zaphod mating with the one DF who was a relative?

He's a trooper. Didn't his mother raise him on her own?

I thought Zaphod was related to Monkulus , too but he can't be if they are mating. Remember the Whiskers split when they were nearly up to 50 into two groups (Aztecs and Whiskers) so they were down top <30. However, it is disturbing to see them under 20. I don't like the Toyota's numbers, either.

The Whiskers low numbers is due to evictions and roving coalitions leaving the group to form new groups...However, Murray did die of TB but none of the others seem to have gotten it and that was a long time ago.

Zaphod's mom raised her first litter alone which was Zaphod's older sibling Silks and whoever was Silks' littermates. Her name was Vivian and was quite remarkable.

It is unknown if Zaphod and Monkulus are mating or not. The researchers haven't observed her mating with anyone so whoever she is mating with she is doing it when the researchers are not around. (the researchers split into groups and each group visits two to three groups a day). It is possible that he is mating with her though. MM says they are father and daughter but that is not true. Youssarian is the father of Monkulus making Zaphod her uncle. There was an aunt/nephew mating pair observed in the Elveera. Dominant Female Eleusine (Jo Jo's mother) mated with her nephew, Dante many times but he wasn't Jo Jo's father. They are thinking about doing paternity testing again to determine who the daddies and sometimes who the mommies are of pups born. They used to do them early in the project but it because really expensive and had to stop.

Maybe they don't want to share the mating information because Zaphod is popular and in human terms it would be creepy. If he's DM and she's DF he's not hanging around for nothing. Unless he's roaming.

Have they said if she's had any pups?

I really hope for a new season.

I noticed that none of the meerkats are listed as pregnant, is this because it is the dead of winter in the Kalahari or is something else going on?

Also, I noticed Jo Jo Hello(VEF079) of the Elveera's is missing, do you happen to remember who her parents were?
