Zaphod Still Alive and Kickin'

I just checked the "Friends of the Kalahari Meerkat Project" and as of the May 2010 report, Zaphod is still the Dominant male of the Aztecs!!! I miss seeing the old guy(who will be 12 in December), but happy to know he's still around!

Hi

How about Izzy, Busta, Suggs, Mitch and Axel? Are they still around? Did they ever find Whoopi(From the Starsky group)? Thanks for any info

I am not positive, but I think Axel died from the disease TB. Woopi was never seen again. I am not sure about the others. I can't remember what happened to Mitch, either he left the manor area or died.

Rattiesrules is better with these kind of questions so you'll have to wait until she has time to respond to your question, so hang in there!

Let's see here...

Izzy and Suggs were separated somehow from the Whiskers with their older niece, Tina Sparkle. But while they were alone, Izzy disappeared, she hasn't been seen since. Tina Sparkle and Suggs joined 4 wild kats (3 Males: Carravagio, Sid Vicious, and Houdini and 1 female: Mau Mau). Suggs went roving in October 2007 and disappeared. The rest dispersed and Tina Sparkle as well as Mau Mau disappeared as well. Their group was called the Hoax Mob.

Busta disappeared from the Whiskers in June 2008..

Mitch went roving with Zaphod and group of other Whiskers males in October 2007 and disappeared as well.

Axel immigrated into the Lazuli mob with some older Whiskers males (Machu Pichu, Wollow, Rhogan Josh and Rufus) in June 2008 and then emigrated in October 2010 with a couple of Lazuli Males and hasn't been seen since.

Whoopi (De La Soul) was never seen after her disappearance :( she was one of my favorites, she was a daughter of Tosca born before they started filming the show and was Tosca's only known daughter.

Unfornatunately a large portion of the KMP meerkats just disappear and their fates are not known. That is due to the researchers not having enough manpower to watch all the groups all day. Some are predated while the researchers aren't there, there has been some cases of meerkats going into the burrow at night and not coming back up, they are some they left the research area (into areas the researchers can't go). But just because a meerkat has disappeared doesn't mean that they have died, they could have found groups outside the reserve. So Izzy, Busta, Suggs, Mitch, Axel and Whoopi could all still be alive and with wild groups in other areas.
