Sean Astin as the narrator was super annoying

Aside from the team not helping out the meerkats during certain situations (yes, I already know about the rules about not feeding or interfering with wildlife), I found the biggest negative to be Sean Astin's voice. It's as if two Animal Planet reps went to a state university and visited all the dorms that housed male students and asked if anyone wanted to narrate "Meerkat Manor". Sean Astin was the only one who raised his hand.

I hope he never narrates anything else again. What an annoying voice that comes complete with annoying intonations and annoying pronunciations, etc.

That's about it. Wait . . . did I mention he's super-duper annoying?

I disagree. Sean Astin's narration is spot on and entertaining. His narration is by far the most superior of all others including Whoopi Goldberg.
What are your complaints specifically?

The original UK narration by Bill Nighy is superior to Astin. Astin isn't bad, Nighy is simply far better at delivering the narration in his dry yet charming tone. I've never seen the need for the US to redub British nature documentaries with their own American version given that the British narrators are usually better. Besides the fact they speak the same language it's usually clearer and because the humour tends to be British, it's often better delivered.
