This show is racist
I've seen 7 or 8 episodes of this show now, and not one African-American-Canadian has been featured!

There has been blacks and Hispanics on the show. And interracial couples too.
shareLOL... I was being facetious with that post, nightthorn... I'd been reading other boards and it seems there always at least one topic about a show being "racist", so I thought I'd get my silly two cents worth in... that's why I said "African-American-CANADIAN".

Aren't Canadians Americans too. North Americans.
shareNo.
shareAll people in the North and South American continents are "American".
So there needs to be a new word for citizens of the United States of America.
I suggest "Unistatians"

Canada is Canada, you schmuck. We already have a north and south America.

Calling a Canadian American is like calling an Australian British: you just don't go there. It's technically true, but saying it out loud is bad form.
Cross my heart, smack me dead, stick a lobster on my head.
"Unistations" sounds like a religious group.
shareI have noticed on this show amd many other shows on HGTV and DYITV they have a large number of unusual couples, like many many mixed race and Foreign born couples. It seems the producers got out of the way to people like this?
Am I seeing things???????
These shows look for a home that is a worst case scenario. A home that will show a dramatic before and after. People who buy these worst case scenario houses tend not to know too much about home construction, building codes, standards, etc. The shows like to find people who will tug on the viewers heart strings. A "helping the less fortunate" type of feeling.
Race/nationality/minority is not the focus of the search. I think it just turns out that way sometimes. At least I hope that's it.
