During the scene where Ann is singing, right before Harris gets up to dance/sing with her, what is the point of the hand thing she does with the mic?

" You have a boat?! Good get on it, anchors away!"

To me, it shows that Harris was really attracted to her. Maybe it was something erotic for him? Because if you watch that scene again, you could see in Harris' eyes that he really wanted her. He just had to be with her right away.

I just finished watching it like 5 minutes ago on HBO, so my memory of it is still very clear.

I thought it was supposed to show she was nervous so he rescued her, sort of!

I'm most likely wrong though

That's what I saw too. She was nervous, and he help by singing with her, so she wouldn't be alone.

Yes, he was helping her because she was nervous. The mic was phallic and well, her hand on it was sending him a message (:
