Movies where an older character reminisces about former loves

Hi my fellow IMDBers...:)

What other movies can you think of that depict an older character reminiscing about their past loves? The ones I can think of off the top of my head are Atonement, Titanic, the Notebook and of course Evening

I happen to be a guy, but I for one love these kind of films. They typically portray some confluence of events leading up to the soul-mates melding together in a pool of passion for one brief moment in time; this memory is indelibly seared into their collective consciousness, an elusive and ephemeral wisp of memory never to be forgotten

Not a film, but a short story..a stream of consciousness story called, "The Jilting of Granny Weatherall" usually read in high school English classes. The story line is very similar to "Evening" where the main character, and older woman on her death bed, flits in and out of consciousness remembering her past love(one whom her children know nothing about). those who loved "evening" should read that american short story. It was made into a short film starring an elderly Geraldine Fitzgerald in 1976 for the bicenntienal.

In a way, "The Bridges of Madison County" which, unlike this stinker with a squandered cast, was excellent.
