Great for kids - painful for everyone else.

In a word, this movie is just flat out boring. It tries so hard to get you to laugh, and I'll admit I chuckled a few times, but that's about it. It felt like this movie put me in an arm bar, put a gun to my head, and yelled "LAUGH! LAUGH DANG YOU!!!" It struggles a lot and it's RIFE with clichés, this movie needed a whole lot of work - mostly in the writing department before being released. It failed so hard at engaging my attention that I actually texted my wife to see what she was doing. AND I'VE NEVER TEXTED DURING A MOVIE. EVER. And I mean - eh ver. Like the title says, it's great for kids - I'm fairly sure my kid didn't even blink during the whole thing, but it's not for adults looking for even a remotely good story. It's pretty flashy with CGI, but there's very little to back it up.

I saw it with my son and I'm glad I didn't listen to the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Saw it with my 7 year old. He loved it. I enjoyed it... it's definatly a kids movie.

It is an instantly forgettable movie. You've seen the same story before. Nothing to see here.

We saw the movie on an overseas US military base. The kids all loved it, up through high school. The rest of the audience also enjoyed it, laughing and even clapping at some of the SciFi cliches that were represented. Maybe life on this Base being extremely tense, they just needed a diversion - or maybe they went into it expecting to be entertained, not looking for an art movie or a lesson.

I enjoyed it. Kids movies are usually pretty good. I'd put this on the lower end of kids movies, but it's still pretty good.

It would take an IQ of less than 10 to not understand this film. That explains your idiotic post. I'm sure you are the type of simple-minded Art-film aficionado who thought "Napoleon Dynamite" was brilliantly written.

Dude, just lock yourself into your basement, and cease all contact with intelligent lifeforms. To YOU, I'm sure a ball of lint would be considered intelligent.

While I agree that it's more strongly oriented "just to kids" than films like this usually are, there is still some material that only adults will likely get, and regardless, I really enjoyed it. Thankfully, I guess I've never lost touch with my "inner kid".

I thought it was okay and I am 23.

If you aim low enough, anything can be highly entertaining to you.

It was well animated....the story could have been worse compared to other animated flops. That said, the writing could have been a whole lot better. I'd say overall not that good.....mediocre.
