Does anyone know what happened to Ulricke Meinof kids?

Someone?

reply

According to her Wikipedia page, the kids' father got them back before she could have them sent to a Palestinian orphanage.

reply

there's conflicting views on this, as with any RAF topic.
Apparently they were on vacation in Sicily when an old family
friend Stefan Aust made sure they would go back to Germany to
live with her father.
At least one of the daughters now publicly accuse their father
of sexual abuse and other atroucious crimes.

3 sides to every story, yours, mine and the truth.
No one can tell for sure what the truth is....

Thanks!

I felt sad because of the kids. No matter how noble the cause is, you should never abandon your children. What is the point to fight for anything if not to make the world a better place for them?

I thought that the Palestine orphanage was bad enough. Seems not.

reply

Right. Not just abandoning them, but to a Palestinian orphanage?!? This after saying earlier that she could never abandon her kids. At least leave them in Germany with their father, jeez!

Well, at least one of her daughters, Bettina Röhl, is a notorious journalist. She is on a mission, and her mission is to spit on her mother's grave, to antagonize anything she considers "leftist ideas" and to ridicule Ulrike Meinhof's political engagment and her ideas on German society as a journalist, as a writer and - later - as a terrorist. Bettina Röhl is a sad example of a person not coming to grips with her tragical personal history. She has never understood how her mother could have left her and her sister for her political ideals. This is understandable from her point of view. But there are many children left behind by their parents for reasons much more egoistic. Bettina Röhl is hardly taken serious anymore by anyone in Germany. Everything she does can be seen as part of her unfatiguing fight to regain a monopoly of interpretation on who her mother "really" was. The crazy story about her mother's brain posted elsewhere is but one example for her blind fury.

Thanks for your answer!

Her fury is understandable when you´re abandoned by your own mother to go bomb people elsewhere...

Of course she would be a *beep* up person... It´s sad.

What happened to the other twin sister?

Regine Röhl is a medical doctor.
Andreas Baader and Gudrun Ensslin had also kids. Ensslins son Felix became a kind of famous artist. Whats up with Baaders daugther, I don't know.

Update: there is new biography about Andreas Baader, where his daughter, Suse, who apparently lives in Paris, talks publicly for the first time. I have not read it yet, though.

The is an interesting cycle, since the parents of RAF members being Nazis had large impact on their world views, and had them move to the extreme left, and now their children disavow leftism.
