Least Favorite:
Michael Isabella from season 6

Not sure I can say my fave and least fave without all kinds of an explanation, but Paul who won in Texas leads the way; always in control, is genuinely a great guy, and very talented! He never looked like losing; sorta like Stephanie several years before here in Chicago! You stole Isabella  (you can have him); slime on toast! He's the worst; looks, acts, and sounds gross! 

Most:
Carla (5/8) - I have great respect for the integrity she showed and her food looked delicious sometimes, plus her demeanor in general was a wonderful combination of professional and delightful imo
HM:
Kristen (10) - again, integrity level plays in here. She took a hit because she simply didn't have it in her to throw someone else under the bus. It's refreshing on this type of show.
Paul (9) - current issues aside, he was another contestant who seemed genuinely interested in competing on an even playing field and it felt like he only felt like he won if his competitors were at their best.
Stephanie (4) - my favorite from episode one of her season. Delicious food and seemed like a genuinely awesome person.
Robin (6) - she stuck around waaay too long and was so very outclassed towards the end of her run, which makes the fact that she hit every challenge and gave each one 110% so amazing. Her last few episodes even she probably knew she wouldn't win, but never went into anything acting defeated and I think that says a lot about her!

Least:
Lisa (4) - who I think of, immediately, any time anyone mentions "contestant who stayed too long" on ANY reality show. Such a sour, nasty disposition!
HM:
Spike (4/8) - freaking tool! And how many times does someone have to learn the lesson of "don't put more thought into strategy than food"? Getting eliminated for that danger mistake twice over a few years shows a genuine lack of confidence on his part.
Stefan (5) - justified or not, I simply despise arrogant personalities. His flat out refusal to act like a team member in those challenges was ridiculous to me.

Sorry for the book lol

When you're 17 a cow can seem dangerous and forbidden...am I alone here?

Favorites are Kristen Kish, Nina Compton, Stephanie Izard and Hung Hyunh.

Least favorites? Too many to name but Josie comes to mind immediately.

My namesake Jamie from S5 and All-Stars who didn't cook much besides scallops or shrimp! Besides being a one-trick pony, if she could get away w/o being judged, she did it knowing her efforts were lame and pedestrian! ;-/

Fav Stephanie Izaard. She's the only one that has won a James Beard award also.

Least is Ilan. If you saw that season, no explanation necessary.

Also Richard Blais. This guy is soooooooo full of himself.

Stephanie never failed; TC, "Iron Chef," whatever! She's the best! It's a shame I live in Chicago, but haven't gone to any of her restaurants! It's a MECCA in every neighborhood; what can I say? ;-/

Favorites:
Kristen Kish, Nina Compton, Harold, Stephanie.

Least Favorite:
Man bun Phillip, Ilan Hall, Richard Blais (I get that he was a fan favorite, but I honestly could not stand him.)

Blais' ego has carried him all over the "foodie" world it seems! He had a show on CNN for a while and he's always being brought in on the Food Network for something or other! I want to like him, but he makes it hard! I think he's been taking lessons from Colicchio who's another one "hard to like!" 

Harder to name favorites for me only because I like so many of them, but Kristen and Sheldon are two that pop in to mind immediately.

Least favorites: Man Bun, Tesar, Josie.

My favorite is by far Stephanie Izard. She has the accolades now also to back up her win. Her restaurant Girl & the Goat was nominated best new restaurant by the James Beard Foundation in 2011. She won the Beard award for Best Chef Great Lakes in 2013 and was named one of Food and Wine's "best new chefs in 2010.

As for least fav, Ilan from S2 by far. He was so unlikeable. All he new how to cook was Spanish cuisine.

Fun topic, but hard to do with so many contestants, and I've watched it all since Season 2. But my picks at this moment:

My favorites:

Casey Thompson (Season 3, All-Stars, and this year)
Grayson Schmitz (Season 9, and 13)
Carla Hall (Season 5 and All-Stars)
Jennifer Carroll (Season 6 and All-Stars)
Stephanie Cmar (Season 11)
Mei Lin (Season 12)

Least Favorite

The "Mean Girls" from Season 9 - Texas who bullied Beverly Kim:
Heather Terhune
Lindsay Autry
Sarah Grueneberg

Also disliked:
Nicholas Elmi - Winner, Season 11
Marcel Vigneron (Season 2 and All-Stars)

I liked Grayson the first time. The second time, not so much.

IIRC, she was the lone person to defend Beverly from the "mean girls" of that season! The nerve of Sara crying at the reunion kvetchin' about how she came off!  

I agree. I was initially excited about her return, then she seemed so bitter that I was hoping she'd get sent home.

reply

What about Antonia for a favorite. I liked her.

reply

I love Antonia (4/8) and Spike (4/8) lol I also like Richard Blais. When I was younger aka in 2007 I had a crush on Ilan Hall but now than I'm grown I think he's a jerk.

Everything thinks Stephanie Izaard seems so sweet and genuine, but I'm from Chicago and have friends who know her, and hear not so great things. Who knows.

Lisa: Season 4. Can't stand her!!!! Lol
I also think Mike Isabella is gross. Glad to see a lot of you agree.
