I love that Sheldon was the only one who fessed up to knowing that was his wife. How would you not know your spouse's voice, or in Brooke's case, her sister's?

shareI was flabbergasted they didn't recognize their voices. Kinda made me think they're not as close to their spouses/family members as they would like us to believe. I instantly grew more respect for Sheldon. I liked his story about his wife and kids but now I believe it.
shareI thought the same thing. And it made it even more endearing to see the look on his face and then recover with a quick and loving "hi Hon" to her.
shareMy wife and I wondered if maybe they told the chef to "pretend" they didn't recognize the voice of their spouse, and in Brooke's case, her sister. I just can't imagine not recognizing my spouse's voice on the other side, or my brother or sister.
shareIn general, I can see it happening because of Context. If you're not expecting someone or something to be somewhere, you might shake off/dismiss a familiarity. Their family members were miles away in other states, there was no reason for them to think they'd suddenly show up there.
On the other hand, of the remaining 4, Sheldon is probably the least self absorbed. They were so busy making sure they were telling the other person what to do they didn't pay attention to the voices or really care who the other person way. Plus, I noticed Sheldon's wife was really the only one who actually said a complete sentence early on. And it was at the beginning before there was a rush to complete the dish.
Also, noticed John's wife only said singles words, except once.
Brooke is usually such a nervous wreck over what she's doing, she doesn't pay attention to others
And I doubt Shirley can hear anything over her own screaming.
I don't trust people who don't like pets and I don't trust people who pets don't like.
Sheldon is the only chef whos in love.
