This looks...

Fantastic. Just like the documentary "Planet Earth" but hopefully w/ a disney twist to it. Great trailer, great concept.

There's a trailer up on Apple trailers. I can't believe my eyes. The best leaping whale ever filmed? The enormous green jellyfish? The dolphin spinning 20 times? Is any of this enhanced?

I saw this movie last night. It's minimally narrated, the images do most of the talking. It's entirely not preachy, just simply a great nature documentary.

It's probably the most beautiful movie I've ever seen, and given what it is, one of the most completely realized films. It's a perfect film to be released for Earth Day this year, and truly a must-see for those who love nature and the amazingness of it all.

Run, don't walk to see it. I would recommend this movie for all ages, except that it might be a little too intense in spots for children under the age of five or six. It's rated G, however.

I think the second trailer is just as good as the first.

I have to echo that. So beautiful and emotionally moving and makes you really feel a love for our planet. Kudos to the film for touching on pollution and global warming without hitting you over the head with it endlessly. The facts and images speak for themselves and are plain to see.

I took my 10 year old last night and we were absolutely amazed by what we saw. He talked about it with me the whole way home - a 45 minute drive.

Absolutely agree!

Holy crap, this looks good!
Anyone knew if you can get a wallpaper from this yet? Especially love the pic with the shark. Anybody know what kind of shark that is? Looks like a big white???

Yap, it is a great white shark.

Some of the footage looks very similar to what I've seen on a BBC nature programme - either Planet Earth of Blue Planet, I think.

reply

the big difference is that the BBC programs and movies , you actually know what you're watching.
In this film there is no explanation at all, so either you don't know what is going on or why certain animals do certain things, or you don't even know what kind of animal you're looking at.
This said, I didn't like it for exactly that reason.
Earth was more beautiful and explained stuff.

still waiting!

I was thinking the same thing. It looks absolutely gorgeous, but...it's really not a movie or documentary even, just a collection of random video clips of fantastic images of underwater life. I haven't seen Earth yet, but I heard that it was more of a story, following four animal families or something like that. And the one coming out for next year with the lions -vs- the cheetahs is the same idea...it has a story.

The diver swimming next to the shark is amazing!! And a bit nerve wracking, too!!!!

The New York Rangers suck. And Sidney Crosby is a cry baby!

reply

did you see the film yet or are you just referencing the trailer? If you saw it, was that scene long or just a quick shot? Please explain the great white scene if you can.

reply

One of the filmcrew swam next to the shark. It's quick but you get the gest!

The New York Rangers suck. And Sidney Crosby is a cry baby!

thats all though huh? wish there woulod have been more with the white. oh well

reply

Especially since the shark is so much larger than the diver, as it looks like the shark could swallow the diver in one bite, if the shark wanted, too. And actually, there were probably two divers swimming next to the shark. The one we see in the film, and the one we don't see, who was taking the film of the diver and shark, we do see in the film. A great scene from a great film.
