i just watched the movie on tv...
well, there's PLENTY of slowmo-shots in this movie (a bit too many for my liking, but that's another topic). what was bugging me is how "bumpy" those shots looked. i was wondering if this is an intentional effect, or did the tv station *beep* it up? (e.g. lacking PAL-speedup?)
This is the director's trademark. Most of his movies are filmed in this style; sort of a dark melancholic slow-mo effects.
shareI believe it's called step frame. I don't care for it either and never liked that effect in his other films.
shareMy problem with the slo mo stuff is that every scene that does not have dialog uses it. Even some that do have dialog! The whole thing had the look of a film school project. Terrible writing, awful performance by Jones. Pointless and boring. One good thing, it was fairly short.
