shareMost of the time the people involved with this sort of stuff won't even bother looking at threads like this, as they don't want to get into legal problems later on.
For instance, the Trek BBS (a big Star Trek message board) actually has a separate area for fan-fiction and fan-films because actual writers from the shows, comic books, and novels frequent the board. They don't need to look at someone's stuff and then later on use the idea (even though it didn't register with them that they had read it from somewhere), only to get sued because they used that person's idea.
