Question about Price ***CONTAINS SPOILERS***

Ok, I was a bit sleepy when I watched this movie but bear with me. So Price comes back and calls it quits with her husband saying that it's not him...it's her. Yeah, that's usually a cop out reason to end a relationship (or just what the person says because they don't want to tell the truth) but I bought it because she seemed to be having some issues (understandable) and her husband had been trying to make it work. In fact, I thought he was doing a great job until the "you only need one good arm to push people away" comment.

So, all that being said, she leaves him and not long after that, she starts a relationship with the teacher. Huh? I don't get it. Had her husband been abusing her or something, that'd make sense to me but I just don't understand. Like I said, I was sleepy when I watched it...maybe I nodded off for a minute and missed something but I am pretty sure I didn't. Can anybody help me understand this?

He (Ray) wasn't her husband, he was her boyfriend, but he was the person she was in a relationship with before she went away. I think the point was that she had changed so much during her time in Iraq that she couldn't continue a relationship with someone who expected her to be her old self. The teacher was a new beginning for her. I am not saying this makes sense, but I think that's how to understand it if is understandable at all. :)

Ok...thanks. Funny thing is that I didn't originally think Ray was her husband, especially with a simple "it's over" being the end of the relationship without much else being shown to us, but when talking to the teacher she mentioned that she was a divorcée. So I figured, once again, in my sleepy haze that I missed something. :)

She was divorced, from her son's father, but Ray was not her son's father. He was a boyfriend after the divorce. :)
