The movie someone takes part in doesn't decide whether he/she is a good, or terrible actor.
The movie was average.
Sam was great, as he always is.

Same with Johnny Depp in a way. He picks bizarre roles that a lot of people don't like or they don't like the movie, but he's still an incredible actor. Whether the movie was horrible or not, I don't recall Johnny Depp ever letting me down with his acting. Phenominal in every role, and trust me--thats a variety. The only role that got him acknowledged in the Oscars was a Disney role--Cpt. Jack Sparrow.

That's right--I completely forgot about his nomination for that movie, sorry. And yeah, The Libertine was bad. Johnny Dopp: incredible. My favorite performances of his is either Finding Neverland, Donnie Brasco, Blow, Benny & Joon, Ed Wood, or Fear And Loathing. I didn't even like Ed Wood, but his performance was so good. He did a very good Willy Wonka and Jack Sparrow as well.
