I've heard Catalina Sardino Moreno (sp?) from Maria Full of Grace, Hugh Dancy of Daniel Derond and Ella Enchanted fame, and Bernard Hill, who I believe was in Lord of the Rings, have just been added to the cast. To be quite honest, it's a damn good-sounding (and good-looking) cast, and I'm excited for this. The story itself has me intrigued as well.
Catalina Sandino Moreno Sienna Guillory Hugh Dancy Joaquim de Almeida Ana Fernández Jorge Perugorría Bernard Hill Antonio Dechent Jose Luis Gomez Fernando Ramallo Gary Piquer Juan Fernández Maru Valdivieso Cuca Escribano
As I run Philip's (unofficial) fan group I am lucky enough to have access to this information. I have a 100% reliable source and know that Philip does fly out to Madrid tomorrow to begin filming his role as Robert.
So Hugh is no longer in this film at all?? Or have they given him another part?? I rekon if his original part is given away he should get another one!!
Sorry - but I have still been unable to find out why Hugh Dancy lost/gave up the role of Robert Coyle, but I do now have the first pictures from Spain of Philip Winchester, taken with other cast members including Catherine Sandino, Sienna Guillory and Bernard Hill, posted on my group (the addy is below).
My name is ted and I live in Seville spain. I have been on the set of the heart of the earth and it's going to be a terrific movie. The town of Rio Tinto is about 1 hour away from here in the sierra de huelva.
I met Phillip Winchester and Joaquin del Alemeda and watched them shoot all day. I even had a cameo as "Mayor Domo 2", (a servant at the club... I'm in a crutial scene with another spanish actor (a friend of Antonio Named Pino)... It was a great laugh! I open the door for him, he enters and antonio framed Pino and I for the entire speech...HAHAHA! I can't wait to see the rushes!
Anyways, Pleased to make your aquantance, I will probably go back up before they finish shooting. Antonio Cuadri, the director, is a friend and student of mine.
Hi Ted Pleased to meet you too! How cool is that and how exciting for you! I am soooooo envious!! LOL I have never been to Spain so I can only imagine the landscape of Rio Tinto and the Sierra de Huelva from pictures I have seen, but it sounds like you had a great time especially in your crucial scene! Hahaha! Hope you can tell me more about it in future. Love Fayesy
Hi Ted! I´m José Carlos. I´m from Nerva (Huelva), which is like 4 Km from Riotinto. I know castings for the movie were made in the museum of Nerva. Many people from my village will be in the movie like extras. I´m studying English teacher at Seville University. I was born in Riotinto and my mum is from here. My mother feels like to see the movie to remember all the facts that happened there. My grandmother worked for the English people in the Bellavista area. I can´t wait to see the movie! I love Catalina Sandino Moreno! I´d like to see the filming!
It must be wonderful living in a part of Spain with so much history.I think the fact that this movie is based on a true story makes it very special. How do the locals feel about Antonio Cuadri making a movie about such a tragic event? I find everything about this movie really fascinating and like you I can't wait to see it, although personally I prefer Philip Winchester to Catalina Sandino Moreno! Hahaha!
Hi, I´m from Seville and I have seen a photo of Philip Winchester, Sienna Guilroy and Catalina Sandino Moreno at the opening in Madrid of an exhibit of Jorge Perugorría´s paintings. Apparently half the cast was there to show their support!!! Jorge is a wonderful actor, the fact that he´s in the movie alone, makes it worth while!!! I´ll try to post a link if I find it again, it was on the page of and andalucian film organisation. So, I have a question... Philip Winchester is working in the film for sure, he´s already in Spain and IMdb has included him in the cast... So if the page has been recently ammended, why is Hugh Dancy still appearing on the cast list as robert Coyle? Is it possible that he is still playing this role and Philip is doing a different Robert? Ideas please!!!!!
You are all succeeding in making me envious because you live in Spain! Hahaha! I have posted that picture you refer to on my group and one from the Teleprensa site. I don't know much about Jorge but I am looking forward to seeing him in this movie. I think the Andalusian Film Foundation are helping to fund the movie which explains why some of these pics were found on their website. I have sent two correction e-mails to IMDB now regarding the fact that Hugh Dancy should no longer be on the 'Heart of the Earth' cast list, because Philip has definitely replaced him in the role of Robert Coyle, and to my knowledge Hugh has no further part in the movie. Sorry to disappoint the Hugh Dancy fans out there (especially annalouise).
