Ditto. I liked it, somehow. The Pop Culture references really made me angry, but it turned out good. Now I'm gonna look for the Magic Roundabout on Ebay, and compare the two.

Oh Yeah, did I mention the song "Mr. Blue Sky" happens to be one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite Bands? The ending theme wasn't the reason I liked it though. It was pretty good, but the song made it better.

I liked it, too, and I agree with this:

I was already liking it quite a bit by the end, and that just topped it off very nicely.

I saw it on stars....for a kids movie, I thought it was funny....pop culture references and Jon stewart made this a great kids film....

reply

Haha, the only reason I watched this movie (and actually dragged my friend to it for us to pay the full $9.50) was because of Jon. I'm a rabid fan girl and found this movie to be, IMHO, stupid, but I would watch it any time. xD Why? Becuase I can! 8D

reply

I liked it but I was wondering something that really dissapointed me. You know on the teaser when Doogal says "The hero couldn't show up, so I came instead." His voice was hilarious, what's up with his new voice???

Person:A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Me:Whoops.

I watched, or began because well it was something that I remember as a child...

I don't quite remember the series....

but, don't like the movie version too much...

I often find pop culture references fine...but, not in this one...

I like it and thought it was cute and it's actually my 2 year olds favorite at the moment, she keeps imitating Ermintrude singing!!!

reply

I am actually totally shocked by its low rating. I guess there may be two reasons for it:
1. It is quite different from the old show and those who have fond memories think it has desacrated that series; might be true but that does not affect its value.
2. People who rate it are definitely not in the age group (4 to 9 yrs) which this movie is for.
This is a colorful, funnily crazy movie with stylish animation for kids. This is what it can offer and this is what it does deliver.

reply

I agree with every person on here. It was a good movie!

I just watched this movie on Stars, and I enjoyed it! People need to stop expecting every movie to have a twisting plot and be a blockbuster hit... it's a movie made for kids, and I for one enjoy a nice, simple, happy movie from time to time. It's nice when things aren't complicated.

reply

no i thought this movie was HILARIOUS....i love their movie references.....the point of the movie is weak but i love the movie references and jokes

reply

I watched this with my 5 and 6 year olds tonight, and they loved it (aside from being startled/scared by the skeletons) and I was rather amused by the pop culture references. There wasn't a lot in terms of character development, and I could go with the farting moose jokes (which the kids, predictably, found hilarious), but all in all I thought it was light-hearted fun. Plus, it was okay for the kids to watch, unlike most of the stuff out there anymore.

You're not alone. The UK voice-cast version has garnered a 5.3 score - where the US version only has 2.3. Either the US voice-cast version sucked - or the audiance has differing tastes generally to the UK version. It makes a BIG difference.

Saw it on starz, It was cute. The plot was simple and they had lovable characters. I wouldn't mind seeing in its original version cause it annoyed me that the voices weren't going with the mouths and it had some poor cultural references.

I thougt it was cute.

Me and my friends rented this movie for ourselves (we're 14 and 15) and thought it was hilarious.
Not because the jokes are funny, because of how lame they are.
Our favorite line in the movie, hands down:
(florence is in the merrygoround surrounded by ice)
Doogal: Are you okay, Florence?
FLorence: DOogal... it's cold.

I'd watch it again in a heartbeat.

Isn't it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do "practice?"

We ( wife and I ) also enjoyed this film, we thought everyone did a wonderful job with the voices and the movie has its funny moments.

reply

This movie was horrible, the voice acting was the only good thing. What the hell was up with the script? It's like the epic movie of animated films. Just stolen material that isn't funny anymore. I didn't laugh once during the whole movie.

I thought it was hilarious just because it was rated G and there were so many pop culture references that I don't think many kids would understand, and yet it is G. lol. It was cute. the Pulp Fiction reference was my favorite.

reply

i didnt realize how funny this was when i first saw it in theaters last year, since there was a kid crying in the seat right behind me, but just like hoodwinked: the animation wasnt the best, but the humor was top notch
