Never saw it coming....

Went to the premiere last night and was very pleasantly surprised.

"Sucker Punch" is gritty, witty and well played throughout. The fight scenes bring a brutal realism, and as one character says, "This ain't one of those plastic gangster films"!

Danny John Jules gives a ringmaster's performance, nicely offset by Gordon Alexander's contemplative anti-hero, Jimmy Kent's comic sidekick, and Ian Freeman's great debut as the "Bad Guy".

Well done to Gordon, Danny, Ian, Joe, Maurice et al, and you would never guess this is Malcolm Martin's directorial debut. I hope he manages to get more of his scripts and ideas on screen soon!
