Sick of simple minded fools...


Ok, I understand many of you have "no sympathy for those in this film who acted irresponsibly." That's fine, I get it.

But, that is NOT what this movie is about. This movie is about loopholes and problems within the system that affect EVERY American, whether you're a debtor or not. The debt belongs to the US Government now, which we fund through our tax money.

Apparently, you guys also feel no sympathy for the US Government, which I might add is the only thing that binds together what we call "America."

Exactly. The point isn't whether any particular person in the movie was irresponsible - it's that there's an active process that encourages debt for those who can't afford it. On the government level, politicians try to effectively buy votes by spending taxpayer money, and they are not doing it responsibly any more than those individuals are. Either controls have to be imposed on the system, or this process will not stop.
