Night Feeders Shot in NC?

Is this the film which I've heard was filmed in Locust North Carolina?

reply

Yes, it is.

reply

Just watched the movie - its pretty much what you expect to see on Scifi channel. Bad acting/Bad script - but entertaining movie. Btw, notice the big splash in the beginning when a piece of the meteor hits the water :D (I think my son can make a bigger splash than that tbh! lol)

reply

Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it despite its flaws. Come now, the acting wasn't that bad though (except for that fisherman who dies first. Boy was he horrible.) As for the splash, that's low-budget filmmaking for you. We couldn't afford bigger rocks. By the way, love your screen name. I'm a big Pratchett fan myself.

reply

Hehe your right about the fisherman :D
Don't get me wrong mate, I love lowbudget movies! Atleast you know that they
are made to entertain rather than making big bucks.

Aye, pratchett rocks :)

reply

the fisherman did kinda suck.. :P LOL
but now Clyde...that was quality acting :) I heard they edited his death scene too make it shorter...I feel robbed!!

reply

You guys quit picking at that fisherman. It's folks like him that supply the much needed food for these hungry little aliens. I had heard that one guy was feeding them one limb at a time. Isn't that "teasing" the alien? People like that deserve to be yanked out the window.

reply

Hahaha :D

reply

Well, if you like low budget flicks, check out our other two films, Killer and Road Kill. Road Kill is available through Netflix and Killer can be had on Amazon.com. Their budgets combined are less than what we had for Night Feeders!

reply

Cheers mate, I might aswell do that right away!

reply

RoadKill has Nick Searcy (Castaway, Fried Green Tomatoes) in it before he made it big. He'll be easy to spot. He's "Stupid" the clown. Good flick!

reply

How in the hell can everything suck about a movie, and yet be entertaining? How big is your son if he can make a bigger splash than a meteor? Does he have weight issues? One word...Adkins. Who the hell was that fisherman? Is that Rob Cordry? And the Actors did suck...were they investors? Did they buy their way into the film? I mean damn. Except for the guy that played John. The movie died when he did. Bad call to let him die. And how does a 400lb man not get eaten first? I'm sure he didn't run the fastest out of everyone in the group? And one more thing...who in the hell names their kid Jet? A plane mechanic? I dunno...you guys better not quit your day jobs...if you have them. One might be better suited to dress up in costumes at childrens birthday parties.

reply

Here are the answers to your questions, Mr. Gentile, if that's really your name. #1. A movie can be entertainingly sucky. #2. We used a baby to make the splash. #3. the fisherman has pleaded the fifth...no, wait, he drank the fifth. #4. Actually they were very good actors, I directed them to suck on purpose so as not to embarrass the John character. #5. The 400 lb man probably tasted like $#@$. #6. My younger sister named me that the day before I was born. #7. My day job IS being a clown (sometimes I go to parties).

reply

Since you have ALL the answers, you must be the director or writer I presume? Allow me to ask you a couple more questions...#1. Are you always under the influence of alcohol when you write scripts or just when you drive cars? #2. You must be a very lonely man. Sorry, that's a statement, not a question. #3. Do you have family members that distribute films? Can I get their number? I need an in. #4. I noticed alot of homosexual undertones between the character who got his arm gnawed off, and the "Keanu Reeves" like actor. Did you write that into the script, or do they just swing that way? #5. Is the fat guy the same guy who was a stand in for John Goodman at one point? I believe I recognized the same sweat marks through his shirt. #6 Do you ever plan on making another movie? If so, tell me ahead of time so I can plan my protests accordingly.

Faithfully,
A concerned viewer

reply

If you don't like their movies - just ignore them.

I think a really bad movie can be just as entertaining as a really good movie - depending on what its all about. Bad acting and bad special fx are entertaining. Thats why I also watch them horror movies from the 50's.

reply

Ankh-Morpork, Did you see Fiend Without A Face (1960?)? One of my all time favorites. Unfortunately they're doing a remake as we speak.

As for the BrettGentile guy...he's just jealous because he thinks he looks like the John character from NF. I've dealt with this guy before. He just likes to ruffle feathers (and do other ghastly things to chickens).

reply

Nope, I havent seen it. Ill check it up on imdb right away :) Im always looking for new/old things to watch.

reply

Ahh haha I like the story of it :D I gotta see if I can get myself a copy of it! Cheers for the tips mate!

I have to comment on this responce to this movie that you seem to have alot of questions about it. You signed yourself as a concerned viewer , but oh yea you rented the movie right..... you didn't seem to concerned about renting it did you, also how would anyone know if he's lonely , the guy is a director and writer and made a movie... What have you done huuummm????. And for you to say you want his families numbers who in there right mind would give YOU that info. And to pick on a name with a name like GENTILE give me a break. You say there's homosexual undertones in the guy who got his arm gnawed off... uummm makes ya wonder how ya seen that in this movie unless.... you swing that way yourself and how the heck did you notice a sweat line in a shirt in the first place, sounds like you were looking mighty hard at that shirt to see something like that.. unless it wasn't really the shirt you were looking at "/ . I would hate to ask if you are a parent with all the language you used what kind of influence is that for your kids. Sounds to me like you just want to make yourself out to be Mr big but this responce tells alot about the type of person you yourself are, So before ya knock around about a movie that someone made just remember YOU RENTED IT must of been the nice cd case. To sign as Faithfully...... oh yea you're faithful to watching so call Bad movies

reply

Jski, calm down. I appreciate you standing up for the movie and glad you enjoyed it, but the guy who asked all those questions is one of the actors in the movie (He played John, the mama's boy) and he was just giving Jet and the actors grief, so don't take anything he says seriously.

A note to Paul, Mr. Eller, Brett and all the other cast and crew members of Night Feeders...

You all did am amazing job with this movie! I just finished it, and truly loved every minute! I can't believe how you created such an entertaining and original movie on the small budget you had. That is truly a testament to the dedication of all the members of your team. The actors were great! The special effects and makeup equalled or surpassed the more "mainstream" movies.

I will never understand why negative people feel the need to trash movies on these forums. Maybe they feel this is their only chance for their own "fifteen minutes of fame".

You all have made a very special movie here, one I enjoyed immensely. Thank you!!!

reply

I'm sure the cast and crew members will be very proud when they read that, IrishLass. I know I am. It's very much appreciated.

reply

You're pretty awesome, gotta say.

I for one really enjoyed this film. Being from Albemarle, a few miles down the road I could totally identify with the characters innate goofiness. Personally, I think the film could have benefited by not mixing CGI aliens in and just relied on the excellent puppet. I would really have loved to see some behind the scenes and expanded extras. I thought it was beautifully shot.

The really big dude looked just like the drummer in my old band. He was absolutely entertaining, I'll tell ya what!

I thought the music was excellent as well. I'd see the sequel based on the strength of this one.

We haven't watched the whole thing, yet. But as far as I can tell Donnie (whom I lovingly refer to as Bubba) is the only good actor here. This is soooooooooooooo hardcore ripped off Ridick, tho. I hope Donnie makes it.

reply

Au contraire, mon Ami. The script was way, way above most horror films. Lots of fun, intelligent dialogue. This film was a big surprise.
If you like awful films, try Razorteeth: that one is bad by high school standards.

reply

Oh man, it's Clyde I'm thinking about, isn't it. Can't turn the movie back on yet bc the girls need to see the end. WHICHEVER ONE IS BIG BUBBA..

The store is called the Corner Store. It is located on highway 200, about 4 miles from Stanfield. We didn't know it before we shot the scenes there, but the store had been robbed a few years earlier when a grandmother and young grand daughter were running it. The robber killed the grandmother with a shotgun blast in front of the child. We had lots of firearms when we shot the scene and found out that the lady running the store at the moment was the young grandaughter (now in her 20's). We had to be respectful and keep the firearms out of sight until the actual filming. The killer was captured and sentenced to death.
ps. There's also a buffalo ranch next door and we had to be careful not to get them or the ostriches in the shot.

I watched this film tonight. I must say it's better than I expected. Mr. Eller, I was looking forward to meeting you today (12/30) as well (I attended your mother's Christmas dinner because I date Larry's daughter Kimberly). The dialogue was hilarious (not "so-bad-it's-funny" hilarious, but actually funny), the plot was pretty cool, and the ending was great. Donnie is definitely my favorite character, besides Doug, too bad he died. Which reminds me, the gore was set to just the right amount of goriness. It wasn't over the top which is good, it was enough to whet my appetite. All in all, I give it 3/4 stars.

Well, despite the negative comments here, I am going to go ahead and watch it. So I am out a few bucks. Big deal. Can't wait to see it. Happy New Year.

I'm always late to the party! I thought the trolls were bad on amazon! They breed 'em really ugly over here. NIGHT FEEDERS will always have a special place in my warped little heart. When I think of all the times I passed it by on the video store shelves! Well I learned my lesson from that and as a result I've seen a staggering amount of truly excerable, derivitive flix. Thanks. Maybe one day I'll run into another one as good as yours. Until then you have my misery on your conscience.
