looks good

i sawe the trailer on sci fi last night while watching jolley roger (which is the worst movies i have seen in my whole life) and it dosn't look bad. but i'm not gonna get my hopes up it is a sci-fi original.

Yeah, I sat through the first half hour of Jolly Roger to see the ad for Slayer and it had to be the worst half hour I have had to endure for quite a long time. Jolly Roger was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. THE WORST!!!! And the Sci Fi Network was pluggin that movie all week long BIG TIME!!!! It was a complete waste of advertising and a complete waste of time!

Sure hope that Slayer is better than Mansquito (that one was also BAD!!!!!!!), which was on right before Jolly Roger. LOL!

But the ad for Slayer looked pretty good. Just saw the one though. Were there any others? Or were they all the same one? Can't wait to see it though.

I saw a trailer for it online somewhere, and it looks okay for a sci-fi original... I'm not going to get my hopes up for it though. I'd rather go into it thinking it will be horrible than thinking it will be good, you know?

Thanks for going into it with an open mind. I can accept the slams after the film's aired, but to dismiss it without even giving it a chance is just mean-spirited.

I enjoy Casper's work and love working with him. He's one of the most professional actors I've had the privilege of working with. I think he brings a lot to the party in terms of character and likeability and in this film in particular, I feel that he truly and completely comes across as the man I wrote in the script.

Now, I've been around the block enough to know that by posting here I set myself up to be blasted, mocked and condemned. Not much I can do about that. It's just too easy to take potshots at something and try to tear things down. Much easier than trying to create something, learn your craft and entertain.

But try not to start bashing it until you've at least been disgusted by the first five minutes of the absolute worst thing you've ever seen in your life that you could have written better on your mom's toilet while screaming that you want the two hours back.

Enough of that stuff. There's no point in it.

To those non-nay-sayers, THANKS!

It's a fun film. Ray Park does some incredible fight scenes. The lovely Lynda Carter shows that she's still quite the stunner in a military uniform and Jen O'Dell is one of the prettiest ladies on the planet and a heck of an actress to boot. The incredible Tony Plana graced us with his presence. Alexis Cruz (who steals scenes outright) and Kevin Grevioux round out the cast with Danny Trejo stopping by to take us on the trip upriver. Makeup FX are top notch, too.

The film was a blast to shoot. The jungles and caves were amazing and the people of Puerto Rico were wonderful.

Thanks in advance for watching.

Wow! That's all I can say is WOW!

I figured that with the cast that was on the film it would be a good one. And the special effects looked pretty awesome too.

I will defintely post tomorrow night after I watch it. I've been waiting to see it since I first heard about it. And for some reason, when I first saw the trailer for it, it reminded me so much of a combination of "Predator" meets "Blade" or "Van Helsing". And I like all of those films. So I am really looking forward to it.

And yes, I did actually sit through most of "Mansquito" and about the first half hour of "Jolly Roger". LOL! And they both really sucked. LOL! Your analogy of a bad film really fit those two films well. LOL!

BUT SLAYER IS NOT GOING TO SUCK!!

And Kevin, if you come back and read these posts afterward. Thanks for my birthday present! ;D Tomorrow is my birthday and Slayer is premiering tomorrow night. LOL! *thumbs up* You're awesome! :D

It was one of Sci-Fi's better offerings in a long time. A bit predictable early on, but still highly enjoyable.

I actually liked it. It was a little bit slow going in the first part of it, but once it picked up, it was pretty good! Some parts were a bit campy and corny, but it was pretty good.

Yes, it was one of Sci Fi's better films. HELLA better than Frankenfish, Jolly Roger, and Mansquito!! MUCH BETTER!!! Those SUCKED!!!

I thought it was cool to see Danny Trejo in this too. I liked his character in it. I just think he's a good actor anyway. So he was a nice surprise. Even though he wasn't in the film much, I liked him in it.

Casper did pretty good. I'm not going to knock on him. He was one of the better actors in the film anyway.

And I of course also like Ray Park's Russian (surprised me to hear him speak with a Russian accent!) Acrobatic Twins. Ray did an awesome job... as usual. No surprise to me there. He's got insane skilz! Just wish that there could have been some other martial artists or stunt people who would have been up to his caliber fighting against him in Slayer. The fights seemed to me to be a little bit slow and rehearsed looking. But maybe that's just me. I'm used to watching super high speed fight scenes with Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Donnie Yen, and all those guys. LOL!

But considering the budget that this film had, it was pretty DAMNED GOOD!!! There is only so much that one can do when they have a limited budget. People complaining about the way the vampires looked while they were climbing the walls and such. Well, wire work is a hell of a lot cheaper and easier than CGI!!!!!!!! But overall, it was well done. It's not like this film had a $150 million budget! So chill guys! LOL!

Kevin, I think that the film was very well done, exciting and heart-pounding, and I put in a good review on our site, "Wonderland", where you so kindly allowed us to interview you about the film earlier this year. I watched it mainly for Lynda's role, of course, and She was excellent as the tough-as-nails Colonel who took no s#%* from anyone, and managed to look beautiful, too, in that uniform! Her "parting-shot" at the film's end was great to watch. I only wish that She could get more roles in Hollywood to show off her many skills.

By the way, there is another review which also praised the film at:

I admire a man who comes to this den of rampant negativity to defend his (perhaps questionable) work.
To be completely honest, I found it to be poorly directed and choppy and jumpy....like the shots didn't fit together well. Like there was some coverage missing. The wirework was poorly sold by bad actors... or more likely the director is to blame for not realizing that the shots didn't work and not re-shooting them. I've seen much much worse. I've seen much much better. The film is, in the end, entirely forgettable and at times boring. But I DO admire Kevin for having the cajones to come here and attempt to defend this turd.

I think this movie had too much martial arts scenes, even the vampires were martial artists it was just too much. I mean the whole lot of blood was good too see, but i'm sorry too say this but the actors weren't very convincing in their roles, i mean they never looked really frightened, especially the girl when she was brought to the cave with all those vampires and bats, but she was just wandering around like la la la.

This movie was weak, martial arts and vampires was not a good mix.
