I have a question about the book _The Mermaid Chair_
by Sue Monk Kidd. My question is:
Why did Jessie's father want to commit suicide?

He suffered from pigs disease and did not want to end up forgetting and not remembering the people around him who love him. Guess it's similar to Alzheimer disease
