Ring around game disk

My brother has this game and loves it. But the other day when he took it out of the Xbox 360 it had a large circle around the inside of the game and now it wont play the game, only start up and go to the main menu of it. If anyone knows a way to fix this or what caused it please tell me cause my brothers deperate!!!!

Ya that happened to me once, with DEAD Rising, if your playing on an xbox360 when the console gets tipped over or moved from standing up to on it's side, while a game is being played it fataly burns a ring into the disc. Sorr but that disk will probably never work again, and the store won't take it back. I feel your pain.
