Help with accomplishing bonuses on Erebor (good campaign)

I've beaten this level several times, but I can never get the bonus: build a fortress in dale accomplished. I always build a fortress within the castle, but it never checks off the bonus. I've, in the past, built 3 or 4 fortresses inside and outside the castle. Why won't it check off the bonus to give me 20g?

You have to build the fortress in the town of Dale to the south west of Erebor on the map. You may have built it inside the dwarven stronghold by mistake.

Did you know, by the way, that Erebor is the Lonely Mountain, Smaug the dragon's home in the Hobbit? When he was defeated, the dwarves moved back in and claimed the mountain.
