Erebor -Good /Evil

I'm playing both campaigns and I cannot get past Erebor on both. Any help. On the good side I survive the first two waves but the third always kills me. Any tips on how to beat trolls/Fellbeasts or on how to take less damage on the first two waves (as i always lose most of the walls surrounding Dale in the second wave--Mumakil) would be helpful. As for the Evil side, I can never survive with the first raiding party (with the three orc hordes, three trolls, and five catapults). Tips on how to keep those guys alive (it must be hard because Men of Dale are strong vs. both Orc Warriors and Attack Trolls) would be greatly appreciated.

And it runs on water, man!

if your still there i can give u some tips.

Evil: Make as many untis as you can. Cheap orcs are the key. Make sure you have at least 2 orc pits. Eventually (20 mins) the waves will begin to lessen. Take out their barrack things inside the cave up the slope and work your way towards the king. This way you dont need to break down the door.

For the good side:

Expand over the whole map with mines. You'll need the resources. You have 14 minutes before the first wave. That's enough time to cover the entire map. Build some extra resource carts right away, and get to work with 3-4 of them at a time.

Move your initial starter forces (including king dane) up to the front, where the corsairs come in early on. They should be able to handle the corsairs.

Cover the whole entrance area with walls, and triple-deck them. One line of walls is not enough. Those mumikills WILL bust a single line of walls easily. What they WON'T do, is survive long enough to bust 2-3 lines of walls, while 20 catapults and 40 axe towers are shooting them.

You will need exactly two fortrsses to be able to cover the whole entrance area. Don't build three, that's a waste of resources. Space them out so you have two.

Use lots of catapults. Spam walls into every available space in that front area. A single line of walls isn't enough. The more walls you spam into there, the more time they spend breaking them. When they spend time breaking them, they are raped by catapult and tower fire.

After each wave, patch the walls up a bit. It needn't be pretty. Just spam chunks of wall in there to slow them down. Whatever wall you can fit towers on is a good wall.

Don't worry about walling the side entrances. At about t minus 1 or 2 minutes, start building some phalanx and axe thrower units inside your mountain. When trolls come in the sides, send some phalanxes out to kick their butts. Phalanx eats trolls for lunch (i know this as my favorite faction is mordor lol).

Remember the ultimate goal of the evil side is to bust your starter fortress inside the mountain. If all else fails, just defend that spot.

Both Fellbeast and trolls are easy to kill if you attack them w/ the right type of ppl. Of course you have to use archers aginst the Fellbeast but make sure you target it first so it will not be able to kill your other troops. As for the trolls, a group of pikes will kill at least 2 or 3 trolls

well I don't play the good campaign because the evil one is more fun. So for Evil I just created a *beep* load of soldiers. and Keep creating them so more can come once your numbers go down. other than that just fight through all the waves and get to that throne.

Also, don't underestimate the mines.
Set as many of them as possible. This way, you'll get ressources, and you'll be able to send back your unit in the mountain when ennemies try to enter (The trolls and the Mouth of Sauron).

Also, you should build a wall around Dale, as suggested, and have plenty of catapult to transform into hamburger your ennemies. Try to have varied units. Some battlewagon should be useful, and one with an hearth on it can heal your units between two waves.

For the power, I suggest you take many summoning power, as well as attack power, if you're feeling overrun.

And in the end, when the elves arrive, don't just throw them in the fight. Take time time to regroup all your unit in Dale/Erebor, and attack as a group.

When I played, first thing I did was to build a fortress near theedge of the houses, and then built walls extending to the sides.

I then built as many towers on these walls as posible (plus a little gate).

Then I built 3 catapults on the fortress. Then a the garrisonable extension, and I placed 3 units of axes throwers in there. That was just about enough to beat the 1st and second waves.

While the second wave was ongoing, I was busy getting lots of mines, and by the end of the wave, I had lots of cash.

I then built about 3 rows of towers(with upgrade)in front of my fortress(where their main attack was), and I also brought down my army inside Erebor(who had beaten the mouth of sauron), and got them to help me.

This calls for a very special blend of psychology and extreme violence
