Jesus was Middle Eastern, not black!!!!

Also, I'm pretty sure they're going to throw some racial issues in here (being that the Romans were white and well, Jesus is black in this film).

I really wish I could hope for the best about this movie, but I'm predicting something that will feel like it came straight from the heart of afrocentrist NOI (that's the black KKK, for all of you) theology.

"Jesus could have had at least partial Arab, Berber, Roman, Greek, African, Iranian or even Indian ancestry." - Race of Jesus (Wikipedia)

Unless you met the guy, I don't think you can say for sure what he was. I don't know why you care, but this is just fyi.

reply

I care because I hate afrocentrist liars (as well as their conspiracy theory that people are trying to hide the "fact" that Jesus was black).

reply

What about other liars?

reply

Vandyvch, what about Eurocentrist liars? You must not really care, for you are not telling the whole story. And the so called "conspiracy" might not be as wrong as you think.

Jesus is Lord, Jesus is the bread of life. He ask that we eat his flesh and drink his blood, and believe in him and the one who sent him. If all of you wont to know who Jesus is, read the book of John and find out for yourselfs. He'll tell all who have ears to hear, about himself, and about the one who sent him. COLOR IS NOT AN ISSUE concerning the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.

reply

Or at best he was just a dude. I don't really know why I am so lucky to get a serving or your religious dogma when essentially I said what you did except I never tried to impose my beliefs on anyone.

If you look at the family history of Jesus he could not be Middle Eastern. Jesus ancestors are laid out in the bible and there are people that have african names.

reply

african names? no, i dont recall any joquisha's and shaquita's in the Bible.

You really are ignorant. Those are African AMERICAN names....you might want to read some HISTORY and you'll find many African Names are in the Bibles, especially since EYGPT is a main focus for many events in the Bible. Oh yea, did you know? Eygpt is in AFRICA....

So what if it's Afrocentric? Where are all the protests about Eurocentric depictions of Jesus looking British and sh*t!

Let's get a little perspective here. Jesus was some guy who maybe lived a couple of thousand years ago and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have cared what colour he was depicted as. All he cared about was getting people to follow his little cult.

Because the bible is a historically accurate document?

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!

No Jesus wasnt "Black", but he certainly wasnt "White" either, the only reason he has been portrayed as white is because of the large white domination over Christianity. But there are hundreds of millions of black christians as well, its only fair that they portray him in their way as well (Jesus is white in the European based Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox churches and their offshoots, he is Black in the Ethiopian church's). Who cares what race they portray him as? If you want to be absolutly authentic, get a Palestinian to play the role, otherwise let the director choose for themselves. Its high time the black christians stop worshipping an inauthentic white godman. This practise is rooted in colonialism, this isnt Afrocentricism, claiming that Jesus was white is horrendous Eurocentricism, this is an attempt to balance the Jesus issue.

reply

Interesting speculation, but I have no doubt that Jesus was indeed a Black Jew.

reply

You know I really don’t see anything wrong with a movie portraying Jesus as being black. Because frankly Jesus also wasn’t white either but he has been portrayed as such many times. Jesus was middle eastern , that is where his parents Mary and Joseph were born and raised so he was middle eastern even if he had some descents who came from Africa.

Dude, you're a freak. Wake up and get a whiff of reality, it's all about racism and you know it, read the title of this "film". If this film is so great, where's the advertisements, the commercials, etc?? Low budget, low mentality, black attempt to stir up more racism. Face it, this film is a loser and will not make it, sorry but it's the truth if you can take it. Lata G!!

JESUS IS A BLACK HEBREW! THE BIBLE DESCRIBES JESUS AS HAVING WOOLY HAIR,FEET LIKE BRASS THAT BURNED IN A FURNACE. REV 1:14-15 SO JESUS IS BLACK.U JUST MAD AS HELL NOW THAT THE TRUTH IS COMING OUT.

LOL

When the shoe is on the other foot, all of a sudden, it's a f uckin' problem.

I think that is the purpose of this movie.

reply

when it refers to Jesus Christ having wooly hair, it is in reference to a sheep, because in the vision, Jesus' hair was white as wool

How do you know it's not a good film if you haven't even bothered to see it? That sounds so stupid to me. For your information, MOST independent films (films not made or produced by major Hollywood studios) don't get a lot of hype because they're not part of the Hollywood machinery/have what is considered uncommericial subject matter and have limited distribution. Like for example, the film DONNIE DARKO got virtually NO hype or press when it was first released, but 6 years later it's gathered a huge cult audience. I've seen enough good indie films to know that just because they don't get mad hype, does NOT mean that they aren't good. Sometimes they turn out to be far better than the typical predictable Hollywood thriller/drama/comedy/romance/mystery. How is showing a black Jesus racist when he's always been depicted as nothing BUT a white man? Now THAT'S racist,straight-the-hell-up!

reply

I used to wonder Middle-Eastern myself, but apparently people back then, the Israelite or whatever were apprently black. At least that's what some blacks think.
