Golden Globes

I am thrilled to hear that Longford won 3 out of 4 awards at the Golden Globes this year. Those awards are:

Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television

Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television - Jime Broadbent

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television - Samantha Morton

Andy Serkis was also nominated in the Supporting Role, Actor category but lost to Jeremy Piven for "Entourage". "Longford" was a powerhouse of a film and was 10 times better than half of the films released in theaters this year. But since it wasn't released in theaters it won't be able to qualify at the Oscars this year. Thank god the Golden Globes recognizes television because "Longford" certainly deserves all the awards it was nominated for. It's a shame this year wasn't glorified the way it usually is due to the Writer's Strike, but a win is still a win. Good job "Longford"!!

I completely agree. A wonderful film with some truly great performances. I saw very few films this past year that compare.
