Trouble

I don't know how accurate this is, but I felt it was worth my while to bring it to everyone's attention. According to a blog I read, Faceless. . .well, Fox has chosen not to air it. I don't know this guy. . .I don't know how reliable his contacts are, but I think we should email (and snail mail) Fox for a second chance. Personally, I'm tired of the reality shows, the sitcoms, and the lawyer dramas. Faceless actually sounded like it would be fun, and topping it off. . .Sean Bean is the lead. Something I've been waiting fourteen years for.

So, I'll be doing a little more research, including where to send our pleas. I think Faceless is worth fighting for.

Actually, in a recent article I read it is a leading contender for a spot on the fall schedule.
Liguori said in the article that:

-13 Graves or Drive could work well with Prison Break or 24.
-Southern Comfort or The Wedding Album, with female leads, could mesh well with American Idol.
-Faceless and Beyond could be good companions to current dramas House and Bones.

Cheer up, my friend. With Hollywood, you never know where you stand. All those rumors and everything. They go back and forth all the time. If Fox doesn't pick it up, perhaps another network will. Surely they can't ALL be stupid enough to pass on a tv series with a bankable movie actor in the lead.

Is it scary that I know where that quote came from?

Anyway... I hope things will go well for Sean in America. He's been in so many forgettable movies these days. It's kinda sad really.

reply

*laughs* Not scary at all. And I hope things go well for him, too. I mean, some of these movies! He finally 'arrives' on the international scene with something like the role of Boromir, following it up with Ian Howe.......and then 'Silent Hill'? There's got to be better scripts out there for a man with his talent. I had heard that he was going to be in a new film version of 'Macbeth' (he played the stage role, of course) and I was excited about it until they announced Courtney Love would be playing Lady Macbeth. Then I felt like crying. But Sean has since denied any involvement. So I guess there is a silver lining to him not taking THAT role.

I'm rambling. I'll shut up now.

Courtney Love? Oh my god....
Till this moment I was exited too about the Macbeth - Sean Bean rumor / idea. Are they crazy?

Leaves absolutedly (in the negative meaning) shocked....

Guys. This show is great. Sean Bean is great in it. The cast is outstanding and the story
and plotting are airtight. Trust me. Fox isn't that dumb. They don't
air this one, they will be blowing one of the great opportunities in programming.

reply

I agree that the show looks fantastic, but I'm not so sure about Fox not being that dumb. At the moment they're currently undoing a few changes they made in March (i.e. dropping American Dad for Free Ride and replacing one Simpsons slot with Yes, Dear) that didn't seem very intelligent to me. They're even trying to save face about the Simpsons mistake by advertising a "new time" for the show, even though it's had that slot for years and was just taken off about six weeks ago. I actually think it's kind of funny.

In spite of this, I do think there's a good amount of hope for Faceless. Fox seems to have its head pretty much screwed on right when it comes to drama and action; they just make some mistakes when it comes to comedies. And of course their reality shows are cesspools, but hey, whose aren't?

"Fox isn't that dumb."

Right--that must be why they let Arrested Development, one of the best comedies in years, totally and completely founder without any help.

I know that Fox will pick Faceless. This is the Best Hit for this season . They have to be out of their minds not to pick this one. Faceless has no competition.

reply

Unfortunately, the original post is correct. Faceless is NOT getting picked up by FOX, apparently issues with editing and post-production. But, who knows, it might be a mid-season replacement in case some of these new FOX shows that got picked up won't fare well. Maybe it will get shopped around to other networks like F/X.

Fox ALSO cancelled Firefly...that was stupid too. Maybe we could...petition for faceless??? Maybe? Would that even help???

FOX has cancelled a lot of great tv! Firefly, Titus, Greg the Bunny, PJs, John Doe... the list goes on for miles! Maybe FOX will come to it's senses and pick up Faceless.... maybe

I saw some listings for fall shows, and I didn't see Faceless in there.... FOX, COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why wouldn't they pick it up? Are they that stupid?

reply

With the ammount of c**p that the networks feed us these days? I'm not too sure they're not stupid.

reply

Hopefully some network will pick up Faceless, I've been waiting a long time to see Sean Bean in a lead role, and for the show to be completely dropped really is dissapointing. However, like its said on the Simpsons I believe, "Fox takes chances on crap." Ah, hopefully some network will pick it up; if not, does anyone know where you can see the pilot?

reply

man...i hope somebody picks up this drama...i just love Sean Bean...and i really really wanna watch it....Fox is stupid for cancelling FireFly...one of the best shows ever..
