he jumped the shark!!!

that was totally a happy days thing. i like how this show throws stuff in from things of the past. if youre old enough you can know all of them without being told. and if you actually have nothing better to do with your life than to watch every episode only to notice all the references to other shows and movies then you can be just like me. smart huh? ha! i love this show. i tried to watch everybody loves raymond from the begining for the first time a few days ago. i didnt like it nearly as much. it was boring. i had to force myself to finally enjoy and understand it.

The shark was jumped before "Til Death even began. It was a dumb idea to make Brad Garrett the star of a comedy because, as funny as Garrett was playing a freak on Everybody Loves Raymond, he's not believable as anything but a freak. He can't play a character any normal person can relate to.

In contrast, Kevin James on King of Queens is the everyman, which is why KOQ works and 'Til Death never had a chance in hell of working. 'Til Death was a dumb idea to begin with and is a study in really bad TV. It was a disaster from the get-go. The freaky thing (besides Garrett) is that people got paid for making 'Til Death and, since it made it to sydication, people are still making money for making a really crappy show.

I'm embarassed to say I've seen every episode of 'Til Death. My opinion is an informed one. 'Til Death represents the worst network televison has to offer.

I never thought the first season of Raymond was very good. The middle seasons were the best. If you ever see the episode "Baggage", give it a try. It's the ep that got me hooked on the show!
