John Cady?

I've seen this movie a few times and something has always puzzled me. After they get the letter from the NCAA that allows them to play Freshman, they have this montage of them recruiting some more players and then there is the scene with Jack and Red looking at the board and they have the players they recruited circled. They have one QB circled, John Cady, and they even say his name as being one of the "All Freshman team." Well, when they show them having their first practice, the only QB there is this guy Dave Walsh, just wondering what happened to Cady.
