Any comedic parts that stood out to you?

MADGE!

lol

Comedic moments were few and far between... hmmm... getting Cromwell's executioner drunk was sort of funny. lol But not really. In the end.

The melodramatic opening credits.

Henry almost drowning in the mud was fun.

reply

I agree about Madge.

The best part for me is when that knight asks to court "Lady Margaret" and after a second Henry lights up and goes "....you mean Madge!"

reply

When Anne Boleyn called her gift to the French ambassador "Wosley."

The entire sweating sickness episode was like Monty Python meets French and Saunders, it was just ridiculous = young servant walks into the room, puts something down, grabs stomach and then drops to the floor.

reply

Oh how could I forget? When Henry's sister had to endure her wedding night consummation with the old King. 

I don't know if it was intentionally funny but the arm wrestling match between Henry and Charles made me laugh a lot.

LOL This. ^ All of Henry's hyper-masculine antics are hilarious. When he falls in the muddy stream, when he arm wrestles Charles, and especially when he challenges the French king to a wrestling match.  It's just too good.

I don't remember the episode, but the choir was singing a beautiful song and all of a sudden Henry tells them to shut up. It was unexpectedly funny to me.
And of course when Henry says Anne of Cleves looked like a horse.

My fav is the King (frustrated at not being able to have Anne Boleyn yet) wanking furiously while his manservant stands by watching with a bowl and a towel !!

reply

The whole series is comedic. A ridiculous soap opera.
