Based on a true story?

I remember seeing this movie on the shelf in my local video store when I was in about 5th grade, in 2008, a year after the films release. It caught my attention because the Australian copy of the disk says "Based on a true story" on the cover.

This has interested me for many years, as I have searched the internet up and down looking for answers, but as far as I know it is simply false advertising, as there is ZILCH info on this.

It couldn't be based on a true story. It has proven to be physically impossible to escape being buried in a wooden coffin under two meters of dirt.

Just curious, does anyone have ANY idea about this?
