Great film, but terrifyingly prophetic !!!

I've watched this film for the first time tonight, finishing DiCaprio's entire filmography to date (hurrah!), and I've really liked it because it kept me in suspense til the ending, but also in panic because of the plot! In the aftermath of the recent events throughout Europe (terrorist attacks in Belgium, Germany, France and counting), and as an European myself living in central Europe, the plot of this film and some of the scenes brought cold sweat down my spine. The movie featured a scene depicting a terrorist attack in Amsterdam, Netherlands at a busy station, similar to what happened in Belgium this year (airport), and footage of terrorists announcing the commence of a long period of terror in Europe led by jihadists. And THIS is what currently goes on in Europe and we're all afraid of! So Body of Lies was, in my opinion, either ahead of its time or terrifyingly prophetic!
What do you think?

IMO, an intelligent, involving, realistic thriller. Most of the "flak" it seems to have received is fairly low level stuff. I think it was better acknowledged internationally than in North America, where "war on terror" films haven't been traditionally very well received.🐭

Someone asked me what I thought of the movie a while back. The best way I could convey how fully entertained I was and just how much I liked it was to say that it was one of only a handful of movies I've ever seen that when it ended I was really sad that I'd never see it for the first time again. I'm no professional film critic so that's just about the best compliment I've ever given to any movie.
