Why did Danny Dyers character not get married?

I can totally understand why the Barrister character, the Sean Bean character and the young boy with the scars on his face were all enraged and turned to the "outlaw" side. I can see why Danny Dyer's character did to an extent but I never really understood why he didnt go through with the wedding. I know it was awful he was beaten up in the road and I totally wanted them to get revenge on the people who did it but I didnt get why Dyers character chose to make his like even more miserable by alienating his fiancee and everyone in his life.

Red: "Yeah, I think it would be fair to say... I liked Andy from the start."

I just finished watching "Outlaw" and I had the exact same reaction. I totally do not understand why he did that. It didn't make sense either in terms of the charactor's motivations or of the movie's themes.

Paranoia. He'd obviously sunk into some state of depression which was messing with his priorities. Maybe he decided the world's too much of a nasty place to bother trying to make any kind of happy life in.

Clearly he had fallen in love with the hardened masculinity of Sean Bean.

Haha, never thought of that angle.. LOL!

Ironically, this isn't even ironic at all.

i think we were supposed to assume he was bullied into the wedding as well, as the whole theme for him was being bullied

Wow, that's an interesting take, you might be onto something.
I just assumed that
a. he thought he would die if he went after Manning so he said no.
or
b. he was so changed by his experience with Bryant and had different outlooks on the world.

I don't think he could go back to a normal life after what scooby and the gang had been through

He did say that he was unsure about the wedding, when he was talking to one of the other characters (I can't remember which one). I just assume that what was happening with the gang had made him question everything else in his life.
