Too much trash for Sean Bean's quality

Why has Sean Bean started showing up in trashy movies like this? The documentary/comment on the DVD is better. He doesn't discuss the movies (Love, the director) just living in the country, eating banana bread, growing asparagus and what your feces smells like after eating asparagus, etc. etc.
And of course the f word every other word.
Why?
