Did the director ever apologize for that camera 'work'?

The obnoxious shaky cam can't be excused. There is no artistic, cinematographic, narrative or medical excuse for it. It is downright dumb. Phony. Arrogant. Childish. The camera "work" will only find justification in the eyes of people who really like this movie and have a need to rationalize what is obviously a misjudgment by the director and/or camera person.

Have they ever apologized? Have they ever publicly regretted, or even publicly dared to address their camera abuse? Have they ever tried to explain why at a certain - drunken, stoned or artsy - moment they thought it a good idea to let Bob Hoskins say a few words and turn that into a glorious Parkinson's moment?

Have they ever publicly acknowledged the thousands of headaches they have caused? The thousands of paracetamols they have wasted? The thousands of disappointed people who felt their hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on cinema tickets, DVD's and Blu-rays were wasted?

I won't take anything off the other qualities this movie has. Really, I won't. But they simply don't excuse the Big Stain on it, caused by the vastly inferior camera "work".
