very underrated fim

I thought this was a real and emotional story with real and flawed characters.
A lot of people direct all this energy to conveying a confident exterior but are really messed up inside and are so inwardly focused that they find it nearly impossible to be truly vulnerable with someone else.

The whole parkinsons thing was so intense, you realise the dificulty in living with a disease like this, but the really *beep* up thing about it is that it is degenerative and always gonna get worse, you will never be able to get used to your limitations or your suffering because it is always going to get worse and worse. Beyond that is the unknown, in that although you know that it will get worse you really dont know how quickly the disease will progress, in a few years will you still be functional...that is such a mind trip.

People getting upset about the sex scenes is just weird, the film has an R rating....what were you expecting with that rating.

Agreed. If people were so offended by the nudity that they couldn't appreciate the emotional scenes, then they missed the point. I thought it was a moving and heartbreaking portrayal of Parkinson's and people who, like you say, are so messed up inside they don't know how to untangle themselves enough to be with another person in any meaningful way. I thought the relationship that bloomed in the movie was really beautiful, and this is coming from someone who usually hates romantic comedies with a passion (well, the really awful ones anyway).

It's a nice romantic comedy, perfectly to watch beside your squeeze. Plus, it's a more or less accurate portrayal of pharma sales reps, although things have changed somewhat in recent years (those "off label" suggestions by Pfizer's training lady are strictly forbidden now a days!). I grew fond of the movie mainly because I'm a pharma sales rep myself. Saw the movie while I worked for Merck & Co., but now I'm in Pfizer, so now it's even more meaningful and funnier.

Cheers!

It's an oddly balanced film. A rom-com like story line with a serious illness at it's core. To be honest I wasn't always comfortable as I watched it and I'm not sure they knew what kind of film it was as they made it. Perhaps it confused the initial audiences but by the end I'd enjoyed it.
