Anyone know what make of car?

I enjoyed the movie,but what make of car they had ('30s Lasalle/Cadillac)maybe.It was really sad to see it in that condition towards the end.

who cares about an old car that will rust and die regardless of where it is?
how about caring about those ladies who lived that way?

I CARE!!!All do respect"lilpad183". They lived their lives the way they wanted...they had many,many options to avoid this advanced deteriation on their home,car and MOST IMPORTANTLY health/minds.I love cars!! I love the movie also,so if you dont know anything about the car from the movie,don't respond!!

I read, perhaps in Gail Sheehy's article, that it was a Cadillac.

Oh, wow. You are really digging here. A person who saw the movie asked a question about the movie. Any enthusiast of vintage vehicles may have thought the same thing when seeing the film. Lay off.

If the movie was trying to duplicate reality, I believe it was a 1937 Cadillac, which is the car the Beales actually had rusting away in their drive prior to the Onassis cleanup.

I could be wrong - am just seeing the movie now - but LS/Cs had the side-mounted spare wheel almost until the 1940s and I didn't notice one on the car in which Little Edie drove to NY for her final confrontation with Cap. It looks to me more like a 1938 Buick 40 business sedan or something of that kind.
