What went wrong with the remake

To those at Platinum Dunes: this isn’t Don Corleone we’re talking about here. Nor Indiana Jones, John McClane, or the aforementioned Batman. It’s Jason Voorhees. Put a mask on him, dump him in the woods, give him some unannoying kids to kill in clever ways, add a twist of lemon for freshness, and holy *beep* make it fun. You’re not reinventing the wheel here. You’re only keeping it turning. That’s all we ever wanted. And you totally blew it. http://www.cutprintfilm.com/features/editorials/happy-birthday-mediocrity-friday-13th-2009/

It's funny how we often like to think nostalgic franchises like Friday the 13th were perfect, when they really (and I mean really) were not! This remake isn't great but by it's franchises' standards, it's alright.

Nothing. I thought it was the strongest entry since 2.

I didn't like it as much because it had less of the campy feel and more of the Texas-Chainsaw-Massacre-Redneck feel..
