They just disappeared after the Lions knocked them out of the playoffs. Think it was supposed to be JD"s sophomore year. Did the family just move again? Dont think the show ever addressed it.

shareit's weird because the family were such a major part of the 3rd season but then they were mostly absent in 4 and completely off the scene in the last season IIRC. We were given little bits of info about former characters like Smash Williams. Others like Jason Street and Lila Garrety even made fleeting appearances too towards the end but alas the McCoys vanished.
shareI just figured that they left to find a better team for JD. The dad seemed hell bent on him being the starter on the best team in the state; that's why the came to Dillon. So after Taylor beat the Panthers with his new team, they left to find a better one. Dunno, but that's as good as I can come up with.

This is going to come off as snarky, but I don't mean it that way.
I don't need everything little thing explained to me. Yes, the McCoy's were major parts of season 3 and a little of 4. But the show is about the Taylor's first, and when Eric went to East Dillon that was the main school we focused on. I agree with Bernnard that one East Dillon beat the Panthers, the McCoy's got up and left town to go somewhere else.
