i'm doing a pole.write your top 5 anime and Death Note's position(if it's not in it). for me: 1#Death Note 2#Elfen Lied 3#Neon Genesis Evangelion 4#Code Geass 5#Trigun
I know it's kinda wrong, since we are in a Death Note board, but i wanna see what else Death Note fans like...
1 Neon Genesis Evangelion (series & movies) 2 Mysterious Cities of Gold (sheer nostalgy) 3 Death Note, tied with Kenshin OVA 4 Akira 5 Laputa Castle in the Sky
Agree with you savvyspence. They shouldn't have continued the manga, If anything they should have just made the L arc a lil bit longer and end it there instead of dragging it on until it became a shadow of its former self
even with 37 episodes ,death note is still the best.I know it's not that good than the first arc,but give it a break ,and it was going insanely good for the most part and a few not-so-good episodes or underdeveloped characters aren't enough to say it sucks.I mean just look other anime with 200 and more episodes that are clearly fillers.
Nobody said it sucked. I pointed out that it was exceptionally good for 26 episodes or so. It stands out from other animes in these episodes, but in its entirety it's not at all the greatest. That's all I said, anyway.
They had to do the 37 episodes including the final arc with Near and Mello, because that's the story the original comic told. If they just ended it at 26 episodes and L's death, then I bet a lot of people would be complaining that it "bastardized" the original comic...
That's true but it doesn't matter. It's still a poor part of the anime, regardless of the manga. Because yeah, you SHOULD judge the two as separate entities....
i agree, you can't have it both ways if you want to tell the ENTIRE story, then you also have to accept that parts certain arcs are good and others are a bit contrived
